Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Kitchen Porter. As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about the hospitality industry and wants to gain experience in a culinary environment.
Duties:
- Assist with food preparation and cooking tasks as directed by the kitchen staff
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure all food preparation areas are properly sanitised and adhere to food safety standards
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries of food supplies
- Dispose of waste and recycling materials in accordance with company policies
- Follow instructions from the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff members to maintain a clean and orderly kitchen environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or supervisor
Skills:
- Previous experience working in a restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality setting is preferred
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work well within a team and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities in the kitchen
