Job overview
This Specialty Doctor post in Adult Psychiatry is a full-time position shared between Mulberry (recovery ward) and the Crisis team, Cambridge. The post holder will provide clinical input to the assessment and management of patients contacting the crisis team and those under the care of the Mulberry ward, with support from the respective Consultants and the wider team.
Main duties of the job
* This post will work across the Crisis team and Mulberry (Recovery ward).
* On Crisis team days, provide support and clinical advice regarding the management of high-risk patients contacting the service.
* On Crisis team days, conduct assessments for patients requiring urgent assessment, including mental health act assessments when indicated.
* On Mulberry days, manage the Mulberry (Recovery ward) under supervision of a consultant psychiatrist.
* Collaborate with the MDT on the unit and other teams within and outside the organization for seamless patient care.
* Work with the consultant and team managers to monitor and improve the quality of care.
* Teach and train junior staff, medical students, and the wider MDT, including clinical skills development.
* Participate in departmental and Trust matters concerning Clinical Governance, audit, and research.
* Ensure active participation in continuing professional development (CPD).
