Job Purpose
The Senior Business Analyst will take functional design accountability for a suite of applications. Working with business stakeholders to understand their short, medium, and longer‑term business plans, the Senior Business Analyst will collaborate with technical specialists to design and scope projects that meet the business’s needs. The role involves coaching a small team of BAs, generating customer‑focused initiatives aligned with IT strategy, and supporting the execution of initiatives that improve service across online and offline channels.
Key Responsibilities
* Build strong relationships with key business stakeholders and translate business need statements into business requirements.
* Take functional accountability of a business area and provide end‑to‑end design principles for transformation projects.
* Manage demand and new requests, perform high‑level assessments, and refine backlogs as needed.
* Work with delivery teams to ensure understanding of requirements and priorities.
* Help plan roadmaps for relevant application areas.
* Drive best‑practice business analysis and continuous improvement across delivery, technical, and test teams.
* Line‑manage internal IT business analysts, set performance targets, and provide feedback.
* Manage capacity and priorities of BA work across the team.
* Conduct BA activities on critical transformation projects: elicitation, requirements refinement, process redesign, functional design, documentation, and defect analysis/management.
* Ensure traceability from requirements to test cases and results.
* Understand and articulate the commercial value of change to support decisions.
* Facilitate business alignment on cross‑functional projects.
* Assist stakeholders with rollout plans, communication, training, and user support for IT change.
* Create and review user manuals, procedures, and related documentation.
* Support third‑party selection processes and evaluate contracts to meet business needs.
* Contribute to post‑implementation reviews to capture learning.
* Occasionally undertake project‑management activities on small IT change projects.

Person Specification
* 5+ years’ experience in business analysis with full end‑to‑end lifecycle experience.
* Experience within retail, either in technology or a business role.
* Tech‑savvy with understanding of data structures such as JSON and XML.
* Ability to work independently and adapt to deadlines and workflow fluctuations.
* Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and confidence to contribute significantly.
* Excellent organisational and prioritising skills.
* Customer‑focused with a “can‑do” attitude.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations.
Technical Responsibilities
* Help the team understand when to use AI, when to rely on human judgement, and how to combine both.
* Re‑think how work gets done by shifting repetitive tasks to higher‑value activities as AI assumes routine work.
* Role‑model behaviours that encourage confidence with AI and develop the ability to use AI effectively.
