JOB TITLE: Criminal Justice Policy Officer
REPORTING TO: Head of Victims & Criminal Justice
HOURS: 37
TENURE: 12 months (Maternity Cover)
VETTING: MV/SC
We are looking for a dynamic and highly organised Criminal Justice Policy Officer to support the delivery of the Commissioner’s priorities within the Police, Crime and Justice Plan and specifically the co-ordination of the Local Criminal Justice Board (LCJB) delivery plan.
This is a key role within the Commissioner’s team, working closely with criminal justice partners, police, third sector organisations and strategic boards to identify risks, improve performance, and develop innovative, collaborative solutions to local criminal justice challenges.
From coordinating meetings and supporting task and finish activity, to analysing information and summarising key themes and recommendations, you’ll help translate complex issues into clear, practical advice that informs decision‑making. You’ll also help monitor delivery against priorities, maintain accurate records and support governance processes.
This is also an opportunity to contribute to improved transparency, accountability and outcomes across the Criminal Justice System, and helping ensure services are effective, collaborative and focused on the needs of victims and communities.
Flexible working, occasional evening commitments, and travel across South Wales are part of the role.
