Head Chef
Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days per week, every other weekend

We are recruiting a Head Chef to join our Hospitality team. As a Head Chef at Runwood Homes, you will deliver hotel/restaurant standards without split shifts or long hours. You will create nutritious, flavorful, and well-balanced menus, involving residents in menu planning. We seek passionate chefs driven by quality and high standards to provide person-centered hospitality.
Key responsibilities:
* Operate within the company budget.
* Train kitchen staff on dish specifications and budget control.
* Manage kitchen stock.
* Inspire and motivate the team to meet food standards and ensure resident satisfaction.
* Lead by example, setting standards and pace.
* Meet regularly with management to meet dietary requirements.
* Train and develop the team to exceed expectations.
* Ensure all food is cooked to a safe temperature and taste-tested before serving.
* Maintain food storage safety in compliance with health regulations.
* Meet kitchen standards as per audits.
* Implement and uphold health and safety policies, including staff training.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Relevant catering experience.
* Intermediate/Advanced Food Hygiene Certificate.
* Knowledge of equipment handling, including knives.
* Strong leadership skills.
* Experience in achieving food margins.
* Understanding of H.A.C.C.P. and documentation compliance.
* Menu planning, costing, and writing experience.
* Experience with compliance systems and standards.
* Team-oriented mindset.
* Understanding of dietary and nutritional requirements.
* Effective communication skills.
* Satisfactory police check and ISA list check (if applicable).
* Basic knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
* Experience with nutritional information (desirable).
