A US-listed retail business is looking for an Interim Finance Manager for a 14-month fixed-term maternity cover contract based in London. The role sits within the accounting team, reporting into the Head of Accounting, and is responsible for managing the financial accounting and intercompany reporting function across a portfolio of approximately 12–13 European entities. It's a technically strong role with good management exposure and would suit a qualified accountant with a solid financial accounting background and experience of working with inventory-holding businesses.
The role
* Manage the month-end close and financial reporting process across multiple European entities
* Oversee intercompany accounting, reconciliations and eliminations across a complex multi-entity structure
* Lead statutory and external reporting, including working to US GAAP
* Manage two direct reports (senior accountant and assistant accountant), supporting their development
* Work closely with the Head of Accounting and wider finance leadership on year-end and audit activity (fiscal year end March)
* Support reporting across European markets with exposure to duty, logistics and supply chain finance where relevant
About you
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with post qualified experience
* Strong financial accounting background with multi-entity or intercompany experience
* US GAAP knowledge preferred; strong IFRS candidates considered
* Background in a business that holds inventory — retail, FMCG, supply chain or distribution preferred
* Some people management experience — team of two direct reports
* Available to start in July
The Offer
* Salary: Up to £72,000 + £5,000 car allowance + 15% bonus (pro rata)
* Location: Central London - one day per week in office
