The Role
The SolidWorks CAD Administrator will be responsible for drawing updates and file management via PDM software. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of PDM systems, workflows and migration. The role includes implementing drawing office ECR changes, providing regular updates, and taking a proactive approach when dealing with complex ECRs.
Responsibilities
* Working within PDM system for drawing updates and file management.
* Supporting migration effort onto PDM vault and building on PDM workflows.
* Producing technical illustrations for step‑by‑step I&S guides.
* Updating drawings packs through ECRs.
* Managing drawing office ECRs and ensuring processes are followed.
* Producing 2D drawings.
* Building assembly models on CAD.
* Simplifying 3D models.
* Providing ECR updates and taking a proactive approach when dealing with sometimes complex ECRs.
* Prototyping / creating visuals.
* Managing own workload time efficiently.
The Person
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
* SolidWorks PDM systems – experience and implementation.
* ECR processes.
* SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD systems.
* Ability to generate 2D drawings.
* A keen eye for detail and presentation.
* Microsoft packages.
* Written and oral communication skills.
Essential Experience
* Previous experience in a similar role.
* Knowledge of ECR processes.
* Experience working with SolidWorks PDM systems.
* Ability to manage multiple projects.
* Use of SolidWorks 3D CAD or equivalent.
* A level/BTEC or equivalent in Engineering or similar creative subject.
* Drive results and continuous improvement.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* A team player.
Desired Experience
* High‑end rendered CAD imagery for marketing (brochures, pop‑up banners, videos, etc).
* Creating visuals for concept approval of new ideas.
* Producing technical graphs.
* Support with technical reports, test procedures, templates and policy documents.
* File and maintain non‑electronic copies of technical documents including certificates, approvals and ASME/EN/BS standards.
