What the Job Involves As a Lawyer in the People Services Team, your main role is to offer clear and balanced legal advice to the Learning Directorate in Children’s Services and schools across West Sussex on education matters. This includes managing cases related to Special Educational Needs and Disability Tribunals, school admission appeals, exclusions, and data protection. You will be responsible for representing the County Council and client bodies, conducting advocacy as necessary, and drafting complex legal documents. Also, you will partake in mentoring, provide procedural guidance on data protection, and contribute to training initiatives for both clients and colleagues.
