University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust provides comprehensive linen cover for wards and departments, ensuring that clean linen is available to meet patient needs.
This role does not meet the minimum criteria for visa sponsorship under the current UK immigration rules. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. If you are applying using a Graduate visa, you must have a minimum of 18 months remaining on the visa at the time of application.
Laundry Supervisor Responsibilities
To ensure that the Linen services team carry out their duties following departmental and Trust policies.
Manage supervision of teams and annual leave and sickness. Communicate with all users of the services regularly to ensure service specifications are met to agreed standards.
Hours: Fri 15:30 – 23:30
Communications and Relationship Skills
* Maintain confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with Trust Policy.
* Provide effective communication and support all types of meetings relevant to the department.
* Assist hospital staff, visitors and patients when faced with difficult situations caused by third parties, following Trust policies and procedures.
* Communicate sensitive issues to deceased families with tact and respect.
* Guide and direct visitors and handle telephone calls in a helpful, friendly manner, taking written notes of relevant information.
* Investigate and resolve complaints quickly and effectively, maintaining a positive image of the department.
* Take a leading role in departmental Information Technology initiatives.
* Provide advice and support to the Linen team.
Person Specification
Qualification and Experience
* Knowledge of supervising a linen service.
* Level NVQ 3 in a management discipline or equivalent experience.
* Experience in the role of a Linen Assistant or equivalent front‑line service.

£25,760 to £27,476 a year, pro rata.
