Job description
Swindon Academy is seeking a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to provide confidential, high-quality clerking support to the Local Governing Body (LGB) within the United Learning Swindon Cluster Schools.
Main responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring the efficient administration of local governance
2. Setting an annual meeting schedule in collaboration with the Chair and Principal
3. Using the Management Information System (MIS) to prepare agendas, papers, and minutes
4. Preparing agendas aligned with the United Learning Agenda Planner and variations as needed
5. Circulating meeting papers at least seven days prior to meetings
6. Attending meetings and accurately minute-taking, delivering minutes within seven days
7. Collaborating with the Chair on minutes, recording attendance, discussions, decisions, and actions
Hours: Approximately 130 hours during term time, including at least 10 evenings
About You
You are well-organized, able to work under tight deadlines, and adaptable. You communicate confidently at all levels, handle confidential information professionally, and possess good listening, written, and ICT skills. Experience in minute-taking, awareness of Ofsted requirements, and strong time management are essential. You demonstrate integrity, accuracy, attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to continuous improvement and customer service. Ability to work under pressure is also important.
