We welcome applications from newly or recently qualified Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologists, including Principal level candidates and those in Doctoral training within 12 months of qualification.
Location: Cygnet Gledholt and Gledholt Mews
These sites provide community residential support for adults with learning disabilities and mental health issues, some of whom may exhibit challenging behaviors or have complex needs. The services are based on a bespoke clinical model linked to our Visual Discharge Plan (VDP), emphasizing collaborative care planning and understanding of behavior through a unique model that promotes problem-solving and stress management.
The service has an outstanding rating from the CQC for being well-led and is known for delivering high-quality care across Kirklees and Yorkshire.
**Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:**
The Post-holder Will Have a Key Role In:
- Collaborating with the service manager on formulation and clinical direction
- Engaging in pre-admission work as needed
- Supporting the management of the multidisciplinary team
- Conducting specialist psychological assessments, interpreting tests, and leading individual and group therapies
- Developing care pathways, risk assessments, and care plans in collaboration with the MDT
- Providing psychological insights, consultation, and training to staff, families, and agencies
- Supervising Assistant Psychologists and contributing to service development and audits
**Candidate Requirements:**
- HCPC registered Clinical/Forensic/Counselling Psychologist
- Trainee Psychologist within 12 months of qualifying considered
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Preferably trained in therapies such as Schema, Compassion Focused Therapy, or DBT
- Passionate about working with individuals with complex mental health needs
- Capable of managing challenging behaviors, including aggression, offending history, substance misuse, and self-harm
