Caretakers Required for Morning and Afternoons- time will vary 6am - 2pm / 1pm -10pm. 12pm-630pm
To proactively notice issues and either sort them straight away or report them appropriately. ? To be responsive and flexible in helping the College achieve its aims. ? To open and secure the site (unlocking and locking) premises and set alarms as necessary. ? To be visible and active across the Campus particularly after 5pm locking non-essential doors and ensuring areas are clear of staff and students before locking up fully. ? To act as Fire Marshall and respond to alarms as appropriate, including the safe evacuation of staff and students and to re-set fire alarms, as required. ? To ensure that furniture is moved and rooms are set out as required for each days activities, including exams, exhibitions etc. ? To provide a distribution service for deliveries, reprographics etc. ? To work with the wider Facilities Management Department and respond promptly to allocated jobs within Agreed Service Levels. ? Use the radio system to communicate with the FM Team, Safety Engagement and during evacuation or emergency situations. ? To carry out minor repairs, including repairs to buildings, hard paved areas, gates and fences, including patch painting after minor repairs, graffiti etc. ? To operate lift escape procedures and evacuate persons trapped in lifts. ? Cleaning of light fittings and replacement of lamps and tubes. ? To liaise with Safety Engagement, as appropriate, to ensure College premises are a safe environment for students, staff and visitors. ? To liaise with and work alongside other FM teams to maintain the facilities, buildings and sites. ? Supplement and work closely with the cleaners by ensuring that all spillages, overflowing bins, water machines etc. are dealt with promptly, and any cleaning issues are reported appropriately.
