We are advertising two permanent trainee Educational Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) to join our Devon MHST pathway within CFHD. Trainees will complete a fully funded part-time 1-year postgraduate diploma at the University of Exeter while employed in our service. Successful applicants will start at Band 4 and move to Band 5 after successful course completion. The role supports an early intervention pathway working with mild to moderate presentations of anxiety and low mood and offers whole school approach support.
About CFHD and MHST
Children and Family Health Devon (CFHD) comprises an alliance of NHS organisations working together to improve health outcomes for children and young people in Devon. CFHD provides integrated care and treatment across physical and mental health, working with partners to ensure locality and county-wide access to services based on the i-Thrive Framework. CFHD collaborates with the universities of Plymouth, Exeter and the Peninsula Medical School to support clinical training placements and staff development.
Responsibilities
 * Participate as a trainee EMHP within the MHST pathway.
 * Work with children and young people with mild to moderate anxiety and low mood.
 * Provide whole school approach support in collaboration with schools and families.
 * Learn and apply evidence-based practice through the funded postgraduate diploma while continuing to work in the service.
Requirements / Qualifications
 * Interest in Educational Mental Health Practice and working with children and young people.
 * Ability to work in a developing, collaborative multidisciplinary team.
 * Willingness to undertake the funded 1-year part-time postgraduate diploma at the University of Exeter.
Employment Details and Benefits
Two permanent trainee positions. Successful applicants will be employed by Devon Partnership Trust and join CFHD’s service in Devon. The role will start at Band 4 and move to Band 5 following successful completion of the course. The service is part of a growing early intervention pathway within mental health.
