At Balfour Beatty, we don’t just build projects, we deliver the critical infrastructure that connects remote communities and strengthens the UK’s energy network. Our Isle of Skye project plays a vital role in supporting the region’s long‑term power resilience, enabling cleaner, more reliable electricity for homes and businesses across the Highlands and Islands.
As part of this major scheme, our Power Transmission & Distribution team is helping to upgrade and reinforce the network across some of Scotland’s most challenging and environmentally sensitive landscapes.
A Managing Quantity Surveyor on the Isle of Skye project will bring deep expertise in commercial management for large‑scale infrastructure and civil engineering works. They will drive effective cost control, manage NEC contracts, and proactively identify opportunities to enhance value for money — all while ensuring the project meets the high standards expected by our clients, local stakeholders, and environmental requirements unique to working on Skye.
You'll bring proven commercial leadership experience on large infrastructure or civil engineering projects and will ideally be Chartered (RICS, ICES or CIOB). You will set the standard for commercial excellence and act as a mentor to developing commercial professionals, maintaining your own CPD.
