Spencer Ogden has a fantastic opportunity for a Site Supervisor with a leading CV cable installation company.\n\nLocation: North East England\nReports to: Project Manager / Construction Manager\nEmployment Type: Contract – 12m contract\n\nThis opportunity is inside IR35\n\nJob Purpose:\n\nTo oversee and manage the on-site installation of high voltage (HV) cables (typically 11kV to 400kV), ensuring works are executed safely, efficiently, on time, and in accordance with relevant standards and client specifications.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n * Supervise and coordinate HV cable installation activities on-site.\n\n * Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) requirements and enforce safety protocols.\n\n * Liaise with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients.\n\n * Review and interpret project drawings, cable route plans, and method statements.\n\n * Monitor the quality of work to ensure it meets technical specifications and industry standards.\n\n * Oversee trenching, ducting, cable pulling, jointing, and termination works.\n\n * Manage tools, materials, and labor on site.\n\n * Maintain site documentation, including daily progress reports, inspections, permits, and checklists.\n\n * Coordinate with utilities and other third parties as necessary.\n\n * Attend and contribute to site meetings and toolbox talks.\n\n * Identify and resolve on-site issues to minimize project delays.\n\nQualifications & Experience:\n\n * Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).\n\n * Minimum 5 years of experience in HV cable installation projects (11kV – 400kV).\n\n * Proven supervisory experience on similar utility or infrastructure projects.\n\n * Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is an advantage.\n\n * Knowledge of cable laying techniques, jointing procedures, testing, and commissioning.\n\n * Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g., IEC, BS, IEEE) and utility regulations.\n\nWorking Conditions:\n\n * Field-based role with frequent travel to project sites.\n\n * Must be willing to work extended hours, weekends, and in varying weather conditions as needed.\n\n * PPE and safety gear usage mandatory
