This is an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning Bucks Healthcare Research & Innovation team.
We deliver a range of research trials across several specialties Trust wide in hospital sites and within the community. Have you got experience in healthcare with flexibility, initiative, dynamism, enthusiasm and motivation to bring to our collaborative team?
The post holder will work within the Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust Research and Innovation team, promoting the entry of patients into research with supervision and within agreed competencies. The purpose of the post is to raise awareness of clinical trials, increase the number of patients recruited into trials and to provide information and support for those involved in research projects.
The role is varied, interesting, dynamic and often challenging, and requires a wide range of clinical skills and non-clinical and experience. All appropriate training will be given.
The post holder will be based at High Wycombe Hospital but will be expected to travel to Stoke Mandeville and Amersham Hospitals as required.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will be expected to support the team in administrative duties e.g. maintaining site files, liaising with consultants to keep up with their CV and GCP renewals, supporting the research nurses/midwives/trial practitioners in raising awareness of clinical trials, increasing the number of patients recruited into trials and providing information and support for those involved in research projects. In addition, they will be responsible for completion of paper and electronic case report forms (CRFs) to record medical research data. Training will be provided.
2. The maintenance of accurate and comprehensive records is an essential aspect of this post. The post holder will work closely with acute clinical nursing teams, multi-disciplinary teams and external organisations. Furthermore, the post-holder will be expected to work alongside the local research networks to provide best care to our patient groups. The post-holder will actively promote research amongst clinicians, service users and the wider NHS.
3. The expectation will be that the post holder will work towards clinical research practitioner accreditation.

EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
14. Life sciences or health care experience commensurate with this post
Desirable criteria
15. Experience in clinical research/clinical trials
16. Phlebotomy skills
17. ECG skills
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
18. Good standard of education to GCSE including English/maths; Good command of the English Language.
19. Computer literacy, ECDL (European Computer Driving License) qualification (or similar).
20. Life sciences or health care qualification or knowledge of medical terminology.
