Job Title - Obs and Gynae Consultant
Hours per week-37.50

We are seeking two new Obstetrician and Gynaecologists
1. EPAU Lead / Gynae Assessment Unit Lead
2. Audit Lead, with an interest in Outpatient Hysteroscopy & Colposcopy
3. To support and complement both the Obstetrics and Gynaecology services provided by George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust.
4. To take clinical responsibility for a defined cohort of women under their care, both when outpatients and inpatients.
5. To provide consultant presence on the Labour Ward and participate in the out-of-hours consultant rota.
6. To participate in 'Consultant of the week' (Hot Week) and to provide consultant cover for the Maternity Assessment Unit and Triage during these weeks.
7. To provide a weekly '2 week wait clinic' to support the requirements of the oncology service.
8. The ability/interest in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies would be advantageous.
9. To be involved in appraisal and assessment of junior staff and undergraduate students. To actively participate in clinical teaching and training of the wider multidisciplinary team.
10. To take an active role in Clinical Governance, and lead and participate in audit projects relevant to clinical care.
11. To provide leadership to the Audit Committee and ensure that the Unit guidelines and national Standards are audited regularly, and changes made in line with the audit recommendations, liaising with the Guideline Lead to carry out a constant programme of change in the Department in line with National requirements.
12. To promote research and academic activity within the department

Experience and Knowledge
Essential
13. Fully trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology
14. Clinical Knowledge and Expertise: Appropriateknowledge base and ability to apply sound clinical judgment to problems demonstrates clear, logical thinking/analytical approach understands evidence-based practice
15. ATSM in Out Patient Hysteroscopy
16. ATSM in EPAU management
17. IT Skills, ability to use web browser, excel, word etc
18. Willingness to develop skills and experience in areas of interest.
19. Evidence of regularly undertaking audits and management of change in line with the audit recommendations
Desirable
20. Evidence of clinical or research commitment and a relevant specialty interest.
21. Ability to perform/ interest in performing laparoscopic hysterectomies
Qualification and Professional Training
Essential
22. MBBS or Equivalent
23. Full GMC Registration, with licence to practice
24. MRCOG or Equivalent
25. Membership of relevant Specialist Societiesor Associations eg BSCCP
Desirable
26. Higher degree e.g., MSc, MD orequivalent
