Office Manager – Construction Industry (Steel Erection)
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Contract: Full-Time
About Us
We are a well-established steel erection company based in Rotherham, specialising in structural steelwork for commercial and industrial projects. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly organised and experienced Office Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction administration, proficiency in Sage Accounting and Payroll, and a comprehensive understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Compliance
* Utilise Sage Accounting to manage sales and purchase invoices, ensuring accurate tracking of transactions.
Payroll & Timesheet Management
* Manage timesheets, ensuring accurate recording of hours worked and compliance with employment regulations
* Liaise with employees regarding payroll queries and maintain confidentiality of payroll information
Administrative Support
* Coordinate and book accommodation and transport for site teams, ensuring timely and cost-effective arrangements
* Maintain and update staff training profiles, tracking certifications, expiry dates, and renewal requirements
* Manage office supplies and equipment, ensuring the workplace is well-equipped and compliant with health and safety regulations
Project Coordination & Reporting
* Assist in the preparation and submission of project quotes and tenders, liaising with clients and suppliers
* Monitor project budgets and timelines, providing regular updates to management
* Support the preparation of project documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and change orders
Essential Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience in office management within the construction industry, preferably in steel erection
* Strong Understanding in Sage Accounting
* Comprehensive understanding of VAT reverse charge procedures
* Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen attention to detail
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills

* Knowledge of health and safety regulations within the construction industry
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
* Proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation
