A brand-new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join our forward‑thinking and highly motivated Development Management Team as the Building Control Safety Levy and Technical Officer. We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who is ready to take on the challenge of implementing and managing the Building Safety Levy, which comes into effect in October 2026. In this new role, you will play a key part in supporting the delivery of vital building safety measures, contributing to a safer, more resilient built environment across the Borough. In addition to leading on levy implementation, you will provide key support for the Authority’s Street Naming and Numbering function, working collaboratively with external stakeholders and colleagues across the organisation to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely service delivery. You will also undertake a broad range of administrative and technical duties to support the effective operation of our Building Control Services, contributing to a high‑quality, customer‑focused service. You will be expected to: Hold a minimum L3 LABC Technical Building Control Certificate or confirm willingness upon appointment to complete the certificate within 12 months Have previous experience of financial processes including processing payments and keeping accurate financial records Have proven experience of stakeholder engagement, both internal and external partners and excellent communication skills Have experience of working within a Local Authority or public sector organisation Have experience of delivering successful timely administration projects. Have some knowledge of Planning and Building Control procedures and regulatory frameworks relating to the Building Safety Levy and SNN. Demonstrate Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Be able to interpret, understand and apply guidance, regulations, and process maps.
