The role of this Personal Care Assistant
Our personal care assistants join our client’s support team, providing reliable, essential care and support in their home. You will be employed by HomeCareDirect on behalf of the client, focusing solely on their needs.
There are 3 posts available, each for 24 hours a week: one flexible across the week (days/nights), and two for night shifts. Shifts will be allocated on a rota basis, as needed.
Pay Rates Breakdown:
* Monday to Friday 8am - 8pm: £14.00
* Monday to Friday 8pm - 8am: £14.75
* Saturday and Sunday 8am - 8pm: £14.50
* Saturday and Sunday 8pm - 8am: £15.00
About The Client And Duties
Our client is a non-verbal 20-year-old man with complex disabilities. He is lively, joyful, and loves music and being silly. Support includes personal care, medication, moving and handling, ventilation and oxygen therapy, and emergency aid when required.
Requirements
Training and Support
We provide comprehensive, paid training to CQC standards covering:
* Full induction
* Safeguarding Adults
* Health & Safety / First Aid / Food Hygiene
* Moving & Handling with hoist
* Personal care / Pressure area care / Sepsis awareness / Infection control
* Gastrostomy care / medication (via PEG) / Oxygen / Oral Suction / Ventilation
* Epilepsy / Learning Disabilities / Autism / Cerebral Palsy / MCA & DOLs
All training must be completed before the start date; training hours are paid at minimum wage.
