About the School
Opening in September 2026, Ardenwood School is a purpose‑built, brand‑new state‑of‑the‑art primary school catering for up to 40 pupils with a wide range of needs, including autism and social, emotional and mental health needs. Responsibilities
For children with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. As a Family Liaison Officer, you build bridges between families, carers, and local authorities. You will:
* Work closely with parents, young people, carers, and the local authority to explore circumstances and agree collaborative, effective, life‑changing resolutions.
* Coordinate visits, conduct admission interviews with the Head Teacher, and ensure comprehensive inductions.
* Draw on your broad knowledge of local resources to direct families to additional support and help orchestrate strategies for coping with life challenges.
Qualifications
* Previous experience with SEN and working with families in challenging circumstances.
* Strong contacts with local authority services (education, social services, health).
* Experience with multi‑agency work, safeguarding and child‑protection legislation, policies, and guidance.
* Genuine passion for enhancing life opportunities for young people and families, with empathy and understanding.
