We are looking to appoint enthusiastic, forward-thinking Senior doctors to join our dynamic, highly supportive, friendly Emergency Department based in Bronglais General Hospital.
These posts are for senior level doctors within the ED team. The successful applicant would be expected to be the senior doctor on various shifts, dealing with acutely unwell patients, supervising and supporting resident staff, and helping to coordinate the flow of patients in the ED.
Main duties of the job
The Emergency Department (ED) is an access point for all medical and surgical emergencies for both adults and paediatrics, and is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The ED sees in excess of 31,000 presentations annually. It consists of a 2-bay Resuscitation area, 4 Majors bays, and a co-located minors area led by doctors and ENPs.
The hospital is a Rural Trauma Facility, geographically remote, and part of the South and West Wales Trauma Network. We support the use of POCUS (point of care ultrasound) and will fund training courses. We work closely with the Medical Admissions Unit, and benefit from a small, friendly hospital environment that fosters cohesiveness and efficiency.
