This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety: one day preparing and testing AV kit for a live event, the next helping commission a video conferencing system for a corporate client.
Roles and Responsibilities:
As an AV Engineer working across both hire and installation projects, you will:
* Respond to client enquiries via email, phone, and in person
* Provide pre-planning consultation and attend site visits with clients
* Assist the Hire Manager with IT & AV support for live events, conferences, and hybrid streaming
* Work with the Technical Director on installations (programming, system commissioning, video conferencing troubleshooting)
* Deliver and operate online and hybrid events
* Help prepare quotes, hire agreements, delivery notes, and kit lists
* Load/unload vans, prepare and test equipment, including PAT testing
* Communicate project requirements to colleagues, clients, and subcontractors
* Support AV service & maintenance contracts (diagnosis, repair, replacement)
Skillset Required:
* Solid IT skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Zoom
* Experience and operating hybrid events
* Strong AV/IT troubleshooting skills
* Knowledge of AV products – video conferencing, sound etc.
* Good organisational and problem-solving skills
* Patience and ability to remain calm in fast-moving, pressured situations
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* UK driving licence
Desirable:
* Experience troubleshooting with AV Installations
* Previous exposure to the AV Hire or installation industry
Working Hours and Flexibility:
* Standard full-time hours, based in South Wales
* Some early mornings, late evenings, and occasional weekends to support events and installations
* Travel required across South Wales and occasionally further afield

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
