Job Description
Be the reason 70,000 people can do their best work
At Lloyds Banking Group, our people make us who we are. And in HR, you’ll make sure they can do their best work, every single day.
The People & Places team isn’t just here to ‘do HR’. They play a critical strategic and operational role in the Group’s success. Shaping workplace culture, developing high-performing teams, and making sure our people strategy supports the Group’s big ambitions. In a dynamic, highly regulated industry like ours, attracting, developing and keeping top talent is essential to delivering value for our customers. That’s where you come in.
As an HR Graduate, you’ll be part of the team that manages and makes an impact on the entire employee lifecycle, aligning workforce capabilities with business goals while fostering a diverse, inclusive, high-performing culture. You’ll get stuck into culture-shaping projects, transformation programmes, and people strategies that make a real difference.
Two years. A career-defining start
Across two years you’ll rotate across different parts of our People & Places function, seeing HR from every angle.
Your placements could include:
• Tech & Data in People – where HR meets technology. Analyse and use workforce data to help leaders make future focussed and smart decisions.
• HR Partnering – with a seat at the table with business leaders, shaping people plans that get results.
• Colleague Experience & Design – redesigning the colleague journey so it’s smooth, supportive and inspiring.
• Reward – deciding how we celebrate and thank our people for the big (and small) wins.
• Product Implementation & Change – helping the business evolve and making change stick.
Every rotation is a CV-booster, a skills-builder, and a chance to make an impact.
Where strategy meets people
This is HR with influence. You’ll work on projects that:
• Reimagine recognition and reward so it really means something.
• Drive culture change that makes work better for everyone.
• Use data to show leaders what’s working (and what’s not).
• Design colleague propositions that attract and keep the best people.
• Make sure every colleague feels valued, included and able to thrive.
You’ll be trusted to contribute from day one. And supported to make a difference.
Learn it. Live it. Qualify
While you’re building experience, you’ll study for your CIPD Level 7 People Professional qualification – all fully funded. You don’t need to be a data wizard or HR veteran yet; just curious, collaborative and ready to learn.
You’ll also have:
• A dedicated line manager who’s in your corner.
• A mentor to help you navigate the journey.
• Access to our HR community and professional networks.
Your future, fully funded
You’ll earn a good salary with fantastic benefits while becoming the kind of HR pro who can walk into any room – from the boardroom to the break room – and make an impact.
By the end of the scheme, you’ll be a confident, strategic, data-savvy HR professional with the skills to shape culture and drive performance anywhere.
Benefits
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
• A generous pension contribution of up to 15%
• An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance
• Share schemes including free shares
• Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping
• 22 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top
• A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
Requirements
What you need to apply
• While we do not require a minimum degree achievement, we strongly recommend the ability to be able to demonstrate sound knowledge, understanding and technical skills aligned to the role. Some aspects of this, alongside behaviours and values, will be assessed through the application process.
• We are unable to offer sponsorship for this programme and you must have full, unlimited right to work in the UK.
Locations
This is a programme based in Leeds. With our hybrid working policy, all colleagues are expected to spend a minimum of two days each week in the office.
