Responsibilities
The Third Engineer is responsible to the Second Engineer for:
* Maintaining an engine room watch/UMS duty engineer as required
* Maintaining all plant and paying particular attention to the main propulsion engines, auxiliary engines and boilers
* Adopting safe working practices onboard
* In the absence of an Electrical Officer onboard undertake electrical maintenance, including the completion of all PMS items in ShipSure
* Understudying the Second Engineer whenever opportunities arise
* Undertaking any other tasks, duties as instructed by the Chief Engineer and/or Second Engineer
