Job Description
Sr Principal Engineer CTH - Steam Turbine Upgrades & Retrofits Integration– Power team (Rugby, UK; Querétaro, Mexico; Baden, Switzerland).
As a technical authority for steam turbine upgrades and retrofits across fossil and nuclear projects, you will lead technical reviews, support tenders and projects, shape design rules and technology roadmaps, and provide technical consultancy to engineering teams. You will mentor and develop technical capability across global teams.
Responsibilities
* Technical authority for Fossil and Nuclear Steam Turbine retrofits, including OEM.
* Lead Reviewer of tenders and projects to ensure rigorous, consistent application.
* Guide and review NPIs for the Nuclear upgrade design (e.g., HP mixing chamber design).
* Define technology and tools roadmap to drive customer value and engineering productivity.
* Authority and technical competence for ITB technology applied in large upgrades.
* Represent GE Vernova technical expertise to customers.
* Provide technical consultancy to global engineering teams.
* Participate in technical investigations (RCAs, NCRs, engineering issues, operational incidents).
* Ensure design rules meet ITR SPS requirements and drive preparation or modification of standard design rules.
* Participate in Tender kick-off meetings to provide technical consultancy and minimize risks.
* Promote best practice knowledge sharing across SP Operations Engineering.
* Mentor and support global teams during design review and technical reviews.
Qualifications
* Deep technical expertise in design principles, proprietary design tools, and operational experience with Rugby‑ITB technology.
* Significant experience in steam turbine design with technical responsibility.
* Effective communication and presentation of technical data.
* Ability to interface with all levels of the organization and represent the business externally.
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
