About The Role

Working across schools, nurseries, family homes and community settings, you'll play a key role in delivering public health messages and supporting families within the Healthy Child Programme.

Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering health promotion messages within community settings
Providing advice to families on sleep routines, behaviour management, weaning, toilet training and home safety
Supporting breastfeeding mothers
Completing development reviews as part of the Universal Healthy Child Programme offer
Promoting immunisations, healthy diet and smoking cessation
Running drop-in clinics under the supervision of Public Health Nurses
Supporting children and young people with long-term conditions
Reporting safeguarding concerns appropriately
Maintaining accurate electronic records

You'll manage and prioritise your own workload, responding flexibly to daily changes while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

What We're Looking For

You will hold one of the following (or equivalent):

BTEC National Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education
NVQ Level 3 in Children's Care, Learning and Development

You'll also demonstrate:

A strong understanding of child development
Experience delivering advice to families on early years topics
Knowledge of the Healthy Child Programme
Confident presentation skills (face-to-face or virtual)
Excellent listening and observational skills
Ability to manage and prioritise a caseload independently
Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records
A compassionate, patient and non-judgemental approach
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
