Salary - £100-£125
A Behaviour Mentor works in schools or educational settings to support students who experience behavioural difficulties, social, emotional, or mental health (SEMH) needs, or have faced trauma or challenging circumstances. The primary aim is to help studentsimprove behaviour, engage with learning, and build positive relationships with peers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
* Work individually or in small groups with students to develop coping strategies, self-awareness and emotional regulation.
* Create and implement tailored behaviour plans and risk assessments to address specific behavioural issues and track progress
* Liaise with teachers, support staff, parents and external agencies to ensure consistent support and solution focused approach.
* Provide guidance, mentorship and emotional support to designated students, promoting resilience, self esteem and independence.
* Keep detailed records of student's progress, interventions and communications and report outcomes to relevant staff.
* Encourage positive social interactions, inclusions and acceptance of all students within school environments.
Qualifications and Skills
* Typically requires GCSEs or equivalent and an enhanced DBS check; a university degree is not mandatory.
* Essential skills include empathy, patience, trustworthiness, strong communication, and active listening. xxuwjjq
* Additional training or diplomas in Behaviour Support can enhance employability.
