* The practice believes in work life balance and ensuring that all colleagues have time dedicated to studies or other commitments; due to this the role can be full time or part time with a minimum of 25 hours per week - please contact us about your requirements
* Due to having 2 experienced vets we are open to discuss this role with people from 1 year experience +
* It will include 1 in 3 Saturdays but has no OOH or Sundays
* You will work alongside Caroline the practice owner, she has certificates in Ophthalmology and
* Surgery allowing you to see a wide variety of cases to give you more exposure
* As a practice we support all interests from diagnostic imaging to dermatology!
* The ability to work to gold standard utilising the in-house digital X-ray, IM3 dental X-ray, ultrasound, laboratory, surgical suite, class IV laser therapy machine, separate dog/cat/isolation wards
* We will give you the same day off each week allowing you to plan work around your other commitments
* Generous CPD, £2000 per annum

About us:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our wonderful team here at Brighouse. This role would suit someone of at least 1 years' + experience who is really wanting to progress in their career and further develop their interests in a supportive practice.
Brighouse is a busy market town, located on the River Calder and within the Metropolitan Borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire. Brighouse is conveniently placed just four miles east of Halifax and 12 miles south-west of Leeds city centre. This offers you the best of both worlds with a busy market town to explore and a short drive for you to venture into cities and the countryside!
Vets4Pets Brighouse is a busy, growing practice that has been opened since late 2016. Caroline, our senior vet, became Practice Owner in May 2021 and is joined by a team of 1 other experienced vet but due to the growth in practice ideally wants to have a team of 3 vets. The other practice owner Stephanie brings a wealth of knowledge and support doubling as a practice manager, you will also be supported by 3 RVNs, 1 SVN and 4 receptionists.
Caroline is a dual certificate holder in Surgery and Ophthalmology which brings a large variety of cases into the practice not seen everyday in regular practice including advanced surgeries both soft tissue and orthopaedics and ophthalmology cases! This will give the vets in practice a fantastic case load to learn from.
The practice also investigates and treats most of our medical cases in-house to give our patients the very best level of care. This is what makes them unique - we provide a personal service to our clients as we are a small, close-knit team, but we can offer advanced procedures that many other small practices cannot.

What do we want from you?
* This role can be for full time (40 hour) or part time (25 hours +) but you will have same day off every week, with a Saturday rota of 1 in 3
* Ideally you should have good basic surgical and consulting skills
* To have enthusiasm for learning and the passion and drive that we all do to provide excellent client and patient care by working cases up to gold standard
* And most importantly to enjoy having fun in an amazing team despite what wonders this job can throw at us day to day!
