Overview
Environmental Health Officer role with East Staffordshire Borough Council. Location: Burton upon Trent, United Kingdom. Salary: between £37,280 to £40,777 per annum (pro rata) plus a temporary market forces supplement of £2,555 per annum (pro rata).

The post is part-time and focuses on experience and competence specifically in food hygiene within a broad range of environmental health responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* The postholder will deliver reactive and proactive work programmes alongside a team of experienced officers to ensure statutory duties and service delivery targets are met and professional services are delivered to customers.
* Work in areas such as food hygiene, health and safety and public health/infectious disease control as part of the team.
* Develop skills and experience in approved premises regulation and primary authority partnerships.
Qualifications and Skills
* Lead officer competency in accordance with the Food Law Code of Practice.
* Proven track record in Food Safety, Public Health or Health and Safety; possess a BSc/MSc in Environmental Health or equivalent.
* Have completed Environmental Health Practitioner Portfolio and be a CIEH registered Environmental Health Practitioner.
* Practical experience and a proven track record in advising and assisting other staff while engaging effectively with the public, local communities, stakeholders, other agencies and public bodies.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team; excellent written and verbal communication; ability to analyse and interpret legislation and enforce it in a balanced way; ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
