What You’ll Do
You will collaborate with a range of stakeholders, contributing to flood defence projects, asset management, and strategic planning. Your role will involve:
* Engaging in multidisciplinary teams to deliver engineering solutions.
* Managing workload and prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
* Building relationships across new teams to achieve common goals.
* Applying environmental considerations to engineering projects.
* Identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing change.
Required Experience and Skills
* Graduate with an accredited BEng or, preferably, an MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
* Both BEng and Masters accredited by ICE for eligibility as an Incorporated or Chartered Engineer.
* Full UK driving licence within 6 months of start.
* Strong analytical, collaborative, and communication abilities.
* Self‑motivated, adaptable, and inquisitive disposition.
Additional Information
Hybrid working arrangements are available; some travel will be required to access flood defence assets and team meetings. Training, incident‑response duties, and opportunities for career progression are part of the package. Pay: Pay Step 2 (£31,452) for BEng graduates, Pay Step 3 (£32,237) for MEng graduates. Shortlisting begins January 2026 with interviews in February/March 2026 and successful candidates start September 2026.
