Locum Consultant Paediatrician (10 PA's) for 12 months
This General Paediatric locum post is available for a period of 12 months and is available immediately. It offers an exciting opportunity within the Specialist Children’s Health Service Unit to support service transformation through delivery of high‑impact changes focused on improving patient flow, journey, and the Hospital at Home (Paediatrics) program across NHS Lanarkshire. The successful post holder will join the existing Hospital at Home team and will be involved in implementing the service alongside reviewing and managing existing service provision.
Responsibilities
* Work in Acute Paediatric services with current acute consultants to identify, prepare, and support patients for hospital at home on a daily basis Monday to Friday 9‑5, and work on inpatient and triage wards.
* Attend four hot weeks in 12 months and cover hospital at home and triage service once per month on weekends 12‑8 pm Saturday and Sunday.
* Perform consultant review of Hospital at Home patients.
* Provide appraisal time (1 SPA) and appropriate admin time/service development sessional time.
* Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety (including human‑factor training), medical education, research & development, and acting as an appraiser, as applicable.
Qualifications
* Full GMC registration and licence to practise.
* Membership of the RCPCPH.
* Experience in acute paediatric services.
