Job Description
Matchtech is supporting a key client with the requisition of a Test & Commissioning Engineer for a contract position in Birmingham. This role will involve delivering hands‑on testing activities across site‑based systems, supporting the safe and efficient progression through both static and dynamic commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute assigned testing activities in accordance with approved test plans and procedures.
- Undertake functional, interface, and fault investigation testing, and support rectification efforts.
- Accurately record, document, and submit test results in line with project requirements.
- Support testing activities during night shifts and weekends as required to meet programme needs.
- Work flexibly across multiple disciplines to maintain project progress and programme momentum.
- Identify, raise, and track defects and safety issues in a timely and proactive manner.
Key Interfaces
- Test, Integration & Commissioning (TIC) and Systems T&C Engineers
- Discipline Engineers across relevant systems
- Construction Supervisors and site teams
Job Requirements
- 4–8 years of experience in rail testing within commissioning environments.
- Exposure to Light Rail, Metro, or Conventional Rail systems.
- Proven ability to operate effectively within time‑critical, fast‑paced commissioning programmes.
