Job overview

We are seeking a self-motivated individual to join our Housekeeping Team on weekends. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing and serving breakfast and lunch to in-patients, in addition to maintaining cleanliness in the kitchen.

Main duties of the job

To provide a high-quality food service to our in-patient ward, maintaining a clean and safe environment in the food preparation area, that assists in ensuring a positive service user experience and reflects the values of the organisation.

To undertake preparation of meals and beverages for patients in line with the CIEH Food Hygiene Regulations, when necessary, ensuring the quality and materials used are of the highest standards, while ensuring correct and economical use of resources under the guidance of the Housekeeping Supervisor and Community Team Lead.

Liaise with clinician, Dietetic service, patients and or their relatives ensuring the patient is provided with appropriate nutrition and hydration compatible to their medical needs ensuring accurate information is communicated with patients and colleagues.

Cleaning of food preparation areas using appropriate and available equipment and colour-coded accessories (e.g. rubber gloves, aprons, cloths etc).

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING

Desirable criteria

1. Basic secondary school education.
2. Basic literacy and numeracy skills
3. Basic computer Skills or willing to learn
4. Foundation Food Hygiene Certificate (or similar) or be prepared to work towards

Experience

Desirable criteria

5. Previous housekeeper experience
6. Experience of working within NHS
7. Experience of working in a team and on own initiative

PPE requirements: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust requires all colleagues to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with our infection prevention and control procedures.
