Mode Search is supporting a luxury fashion brand in the search for a Transport Logistics Manager. This role will drive the performance and evolution of the brand’s upstream logistics function, ensuring exceptional service, capacity planning, cost control, compliance and sustainability across all inbound flows.
The position is based in London and sits within the Supply Chain function. The Transport Logistics Manager reports directly to the Head of Logistics and works in close partnership with cross-functional teams, external partners and the brand’s chosen logistics provider.
The Role
* Contribute to the development and execution of the brand’s upstream supply chain strategy.
* Stay informed of best practices, trends and innovations in upstream logistics.
* Oversee all inbound shipments—including samples, raw materials and finished goods—across air, sea and road freight.
* Coordinate dispatch, tracking and timely delivery into the distribution centre, ensuring service performance.
* Prepare import/export quotations, consolidating shipments to secure optimal cost and service levels.
* Forecast DC throughput, manage booking requirements and resolve discrepancies with suppliers or the DC.
* Verify supplier shipping documentation and ensure DCs receive accurate pre-advice.
* Troubleshoot shipment issues, communicating delays and impacts to relevant stakeholders.
* Monitor and report logistics KPIs covering quality, efficiency, sustainability and compliance.
* Identify operational risks and opportunities, proposing and implementing improvements.
* Maintain strong understanding of customs regulations to ensure compliance.
* Ensure accurate execution of inbound quality control processes in line with brand standards.
* Partner with QC teams to resolve quality issues and maintain QC KPIs.
* Oversee putaway and storage processes at the logistics provider’s warehouse.
* Develop, update and train teams on operating procedures for storage and handling.
* Collaborate with the on-site logistics partner to ensure daily adherence to procedures.
* Regularly visit the warehouse to maintain engagement, monitor performance and support team motivation.
* Support product and channel teams with consolidation of production orders.
* Manage allocation and reallocation of inventory across channels to maximise availability and sell-through.
* Maintain accurate master data, inventory and cost information for operational and financial reporting.
* Stay updated on compliance and sustainability obligations and contribute to related data collection.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives around compliance and sustainability.
* Contribute to annual planning and budgeting for upstream logistics.
* Manage spend in line with approved budgets, supported by regular financial reporting.
Requirements
* Significant experience in upstream logistics within the fashion industry, ideally luxury.
* Strong proficiency with relevant logistics systems and tools, including MS Office.
* Demonstrated experience managing 3PL logistics operations.
* Commercially minded with strong analytical skills.
* Proven ability to build, lead and develop teams.
* Capable of operating under pressure and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
* High levels of initiative, ownership and follow-through.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across internal teams and external partners.
* A proactive, positive and solutions-oriented approach.
