This is a demanding role, and we are seeking an IT Systems Administrator to manage our in-house and cloud-based infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Systems Administrator will be responsible for installing, maintaining, upgrading, and patching server software, applications, and hardware to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our technology infrastructure. Serving as the primary point of contact for any IT-related queries or issues, this role provides hands-on technical support.
The position involves engaging with team members at all levels within our global organization, including external parties, across multiple time zones. The individual in this role works under general supervision, manages various shifts, may work over 40 hours per week and/or be subject to callback as required, and may also need to travel as necessary.
The ideal candidate will be ambitious, highly motivated, and possess excellent communication skills. You will be tasked with the overall management of the hardware and software systems that form our environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure IT system functionality: Diagnose and resolve performance issues while implementing necessary enhancements.
* Proactive monitoring: Detect unusual network activity and potential security threats before they impact end users.
* System compatibility & optimization: Oversee hardware upgrades, patch management, and infrastructure reliability.
* Microsoft 365 & Cloud Solutions: Manage Teams, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Autopilot for seamless collaboration.
* User Support: Assist employees with IT troubleshooting and provide training for new software implementations.
* Access management & security: Oversee user permissions, configure security protocols, and enforce access controls.
* Comprehensive documentation: Maintain records of IT assets, user demands, and system performance for future improvements.
* Network & Endpoint Security: Strengthen security measures across IT environments to ensure compliance and protection.
Basic Qualifications:
* 3+ years of experience in IT systems administration.
* Hands-on experience with Linux or Windows server administration.
* Experience with enterprise network administration and deployment
Preferred Skills And Experience:
* Working knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, NTP, PTP etc), firewalls administration and cybersecurity technologies.
* Excellent trouble-shooting experience (hardware, software, TCP/IP, applications, OS)
* Experience with administering multiple operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, Solaris.
·Familiarity with multi-platform authentication/identification environments.
·Experience with virtualization platforms and tools.
·Working knowledge, including the ability to set up, configure, upgrade, manage, and troubleshoot, Windows-based systems and services (i.e. Active Directory, Entra, Intune, AutoPilot, Windows Server,).
* Proficiency in administration and support of computer hardware, network, servers, desktops, security, backups and email
* Knowledge and understanding of network applications, web servers, email servers, firewalls, databases, file shares and print servers.
* Experience with scripting and automation tools
* Experience with configuration management, and provisioning
* A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
·Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
Additional Requirements
* Willing to work extended hours or weekends as necessary.
* Willing to be on after-hours on-call rotation.
* Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
* Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
