We are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Colchester that is seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced HLTA who enjoys taking a proactive role in the classroom and supporting pupils to achieve their best.
The Role
1. Delivering pre-planned lessons and covering classes when required
2. Supporting learning across EYFS, KS1, and/or KS2 (depending on experience)
3. Working with individuals and small groups to raise attainment
4. Supporting pupils with SEN and additional needs
5. Assisting with planning, assessment, and classroom management
6. Working closely with teaching staff and senior leaders
The Ideal Candidate
7. HLTA qualification (Level 4 or above) – essential
8. Previous experience working as an HLTA in a UK primary school
9. Confident classroom presence and strong behaviour management skills
10. Professional, reliable, and adaptable approach
11. Passionate about supporting children’s learning and wellbeing
Safeguarding & Compliance

12. Two professional references
13. Enhanced DBS (sighted or on the Update Service)
14. Right to Work in the UK
