Job Description:
Empowering Learning are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team on a full-time basis. This role involves working closely with pupils who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), providing tailored support to help them achieve their full potential in a nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND
Assist the class teacher in delivering personalised learning plans
Support pupils with a range of needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties)
Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development
Help create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
Monitor and record pupil progress, reporting back to teachers and SENCO
Assist with personal care where requiredRequirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEND (preferred)
A patient, empathetic, and caring approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
Basic understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)Benefits:
