Offer description

Who we are:

With over 50 years of business success, we have a reputation as the world leader in specialist recruitment and workforce solutions. Joining Hays isn’t just about being part of a global business leader, it’s about making a difference in the world of work.

About the role:

We are building our new emerging talent and apprenticeship offering and are looking for a hands‑on Training & Curriculum Consultant to deliver high‑quality, engaging vocational training programmes—initially focused on IT, digital skills, and low/no‑code technologies.

This role is critical to stabilising and improving our current apprenticeship delivery, particularly for our cohort of Level 4 Business Analyst apprentices, many of whom require renewed engagement, support, and structured learning.

You will be responsible for delivering training, coaching, and assessment that is practical, contextualised, compliant, and grounded in strong adult-learning principles. You won’t be expected to lead the service line or design entire programmes from scratch, but you will bring modern educational thinking, rigour, and professionalism to ensure our learners succeed and our apprenticeship provision meets regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Training delivery

* Deliver engaging workshops, live sessions, and 1:1 coaching to apprentices.
* Adapt teaching style to suit adult learners with varied experience levels.
* Support learners to build problem‑solving skills, good working habits, and confidence with modern digital tools.
* Re-engage learners

Curriculum support

* Translate apprenticeship standards into practical, job-focused activities and assignments.
* Work with SMEs where specific technical expertise is needed (e.g., AI, automation, VMware/Broadcom technologies).
* Ensure training content is contextualised and relevant to real workplace scenarios.
* Set, assess, and mark work that aligns with Level 4 apprenticeship requirements.

Quality, compliance & assurance

* Ensure delivery meets Ofsted, apprenticeship, and regulatory expectations. ( not required to know all Ofsted requirements)
* Maintain consistent records of learner progress, assessment, and engagement.
* Work closely with internal compliance leads to ensure all training “boxes are ticked” from a regulatory and quality standpoint.

Learner support & progress tracking

* Monitor apprentice progress and intervene early when learners need additional support.
* Conduct regular 1:1 reviews, skills development sessions, and pastoral check‑ins.
* Provide constructive feedback that accelerates learner development.

Programme support & future growth

* Contribute to stabilising the existing apprenticeship programme, ensuring reliable delivery during a period of transition.
* Support the evolution of future talent models such as hire–train–deploy, delivering training to cohorts who will go on to client placements.
* Bring ideas and insights from modern adult learning, workplace learning science, and vocational training best practice.

About you:

Desired experience

* Strong background in training delivery, vocational education, adult learning, or coaching.
* Experience delivering IT, digital, low/no‑code, or technical training. (Desired but not essential)
* Ability to contextualise learning based on real professional experience — you’ve done the work you’re teaching.
* Experience assessing or supporting apprenticeship programmes is highly beneficial.

Skills & attributes

* Excellent facilitation and coaching skills — more coach than traditional teacher.
* Deep understanding of how adults learn, acquire new skills, and stay motivated.
* Able to break down complex topics and guide learners to solve problems independently.
* Creative thinker who can engage adult learners outside traditional school environments.
* Pragmatic, organised, and able to deliver high volumes of training activity.
* Confident operating in both start‑up environments and large corporate structures.

What we offer

* A chance to make a meaningful impact on apprentices’ development and future careers.
* An influential role in stabilising and uplifting a growing apprenticeship service.
* Opportunities to expand into emerging areas such as AI, automation, and hire–train–deploy programmes.
* A collaborative, innovative culture where modern approaches to learning are valued.

At Hays, we know that diverse teams deliver better results, and that inclusion fuels our innovation. We’re committed to building a culture where different perspectives are embraced and where all of our people can flourish.

What you’ll get in return:

* Culture built on rewarding success and the opportunity to influence your earning potential.
* Best technology in the industry and a renowned training programme to support success and drive rapid career progression.
* Flexible hybrid working patterns.
* Opportunity to take your career globally.
* Incentives and rewards to recognise performance locally, regionally, and nationally.
* Broad range of employee wellbeing initiatives and benefits.
* Referral bonus scheme.
* Community of support networks from Hays Pride to Parents@Hays.
* Paid charity day for all employees #HaysHelps and working closely with charity partners.

As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we see Diversity, Equity & Inclusion not just as the right thing to do but also as a business advantage. We welcome applicants from talented people of all backgrounds who want to grow with us & contribute to our shared success.
