The Opportunity
Are you a digital architect with a passion for coding and the ability to demystify the "magic" behind the screen? Can you inspire students to become creators of technology, rather than just consumers, in one of the UK’s leading digital hubs?
We are seeking a forward-thinking and technically proficient Computer Science Teacher to join a dynamic department in Slough. Home to the highest concentration of global data centres in Europe and the iconic Slough Trading Estate, this town is a powerhouse of the "Silicon Corridor." We are looking for an educator who can bridge the gap between classroom theory and the cutting-edge requirements of the 21st-century tech industry.

Core Responsibilities
* Curriculum Delivery: Planning and facilitating high-impact lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to lead A-Level Computer Science for qualified candidates.
* Programming Mastery: Teaching high-level programming languages (principally Python, but experience in Java, C#, or VB.NET is an asset) to develop students’ computational thinking and algorithmic logic.
* GCSE & A-Level Success: Guiding students through the rigours of external examinations (e.g., OCR or AQA), focusing on both the theoretical components (hardware, networking, cybersecurity) and practical programming projects (NEA).
* Digital Innovation: Incorporating emerging technologies into the curriculum, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, and Big Data, to ensure students remain at the forefront of the digital landscape.
* Hardware & Networking: Providing hands-on instruction in the physical components of computing, including internal architecture, logic gates, and the protocols that govern the modern internet.
* Pastoral Care: Serving as a dedicated Form Tutor, fostering a supportive community and monitoring the academic and personal development of a specific group of learners.

Why This School?
* Slough’s Tech Ecosystem: Work in a town defined by its proximity to global tech giants, offering unique opportunities for industry links, guest speakers, and local career pathways for your students.
* Well-Resourced IT Suites: Benefit from a school that invests in high-specification hardware, modern software environments, and dedicated technical support to ensure your lessons run seamlessly.
* A Culture of Computational Thinking: Join a department that values problem-solving and logic, where Computer Science is seen as a core pillar of the school’s academic strategy.
* Professional Growth: Access to specialist CPD in Cybersecurity, Physical Computing (e.g., Raspberry Pi/Arduino), and pathways toward Head of Computing or Director of Digital Strategy roles.
-----------------------------------
Candidate Profile
* Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply.
* Technical Proficiency: A deep understanding of computer architecture, data structures, and the ability to model complex code to students with varying levels of prior experience.
* Inspirational Pedagogy: The ability to make abstract concepts—such as the Fetch-Execute cycle or packet switching—vibrant and accessible through creative teaching methods.
* Character: A resilient, reflective, and collaborative professional who stays current with technological trends and is committed to closing the "digital divide" for all students.
