We are seeking a skilled Senior Chemist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting sample analysis to a high standard in order to generate reliable and timely results. As Senior Chemist, you will play a key role in the laboratory environment, utilising your expertise to troubleshoot problems and answer client queries.
Duties will include:
* Performing sample analysis using ICP-OES, Blu-Vision, probe and other inorganic techniques.
* Performing quality control/standards tests to ensure testing and machinery are producing accurate results.
* Utilise laboratory information management systems to record results accurately.
* Stay up to date with new and relevant technology and methodologies.
* Toubleshoot and resolve any issues related to results and testing.
Required Experience:
* Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemistry or related field.
* Minimum of three years experience in an environmental analytical laboratory.
* Knowledge of ISO and UKAS accreditation systems.
* Experience with ICP-OES, Blu-Vision or GC-MS
Desired Skills:
* Good laboratory and documentation practices.
* Ability to manage samples from analysis to reporting.
* Method development and validation.
* Liaise with clients and answer queries using good customer interaction skills.
Pay:
£27,000 - £27,500 per year
