The First Federation Trust, a Multi Academy Trust of 29 primary schools across Devon, West Dorset & Plymouth, is looking to appoint a full-time Head Teacher to join the hard-working and friendly team at Newton Ferrers CE Primary School.
This is a maternity position to cover the Spring and Summer terms 2026.
As the Head of School, you will lead a team of dedicated educators and support staff, and embrace our culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. Your passion for education and commitment to child-centred learning will ensure the school goes from strength to strength.

Responsibilities
• Provide visionary leadership and strategic direction to embed and promote the vision and values of the school.
• Lead teaching and learning to ensure pupil achievement and continually evaluate and improve approaches to teaching and learning.
• Develop yourself and your team, maintaining a culture of high expectations of yourself and others.
• Oversee the smooth day-to-day running of the school, ensuring efficient and effective management of resources.
• Ensure the safety and welfare of all pupils, promoting a secure and nurturing school environment that celebrates diversity, inclusion and equality.
