Northern State University seeks a full-time Instructor or Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology with a start date of January 2025.
Qualifications: The Department of Science & Math seeks an individual with a Master’s or PhD in Biology or closely related field (doctorate preferred or ABD ) with a commitment to undergraduate education. Teaching experience is preferred. For an assistant professor, tenure-track position, the ability to conduct research in the candidate’s area of expertise is expected.
Responsibilities: The applicant will teach 12 to 15 credit hours per semester, depending on lecturer or professorial contract. Courses may include both introductory and upper-level undergraduate courses. Primary teaching responsibilities will include Human Anatomy & Physiology and Gross Anatomy; other courses may be added based on the candidate’s area of expertise and departmental needs. The applicant will engage in research (if tenure-track) and service. The candidate will also be expected to support student recruitment and retention efforts and fulfill other duties as assigned.
