About the employer: Learning Partners Academy Trust is a Multi-Academy Trust comprising a cross-phase family of schools. Their shared aim is continuous school improvement through challenge, collaboration, and support. About the role: The Learning Partners network team is looking for an energetic and hardworking apprentice to join their small team, providing network support in the central network team located at King's College Guildford in a team of three. You will be working with an exciting new, close-knit team working remotely across the trust schools. You will be assisting the Service Desk Lead and IT Technicians as tickets come in, assisting staff and students across the school. As you’ll be working in the helpdesk team, you will be doing predominantly first line support, but they feel that network staff should be given the opportunity for different projects, so they will work with you on one of these projects to learn a specialty, for example: backup systems. On completion of your apprenticeship, career opportunities may be available across their 12 schools where you will be able to continue training and attend seminars to maintain your knowledge. What you will be doing: Provide first line support for staff who raise helpdesk tickets Provide technical support to understand and troubleshoot issues Creation of staff accounts throughout a range of programs and websites Assist in system upgrades and system maintenance Liaise with third-party suppliers such as Internet Service Providers and vendors to retrieve quotes Support with technology asset management Network Technician Duties: Complete cabling tasks, for example, coaxial, copper, fibre or remotely. Administer mobile devices on a network Deliver network tasks prioritising security with a view to mitigating and defending against security risks Install and configure relevant software and physical or virtual hardware as appropriate, for example, network devices, switches, and routers. The training you'll be provided with: Comprehensive introductory modules to technical concepts Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship standard Training for all pathways of your IT career (support technician, network technician, digital communications technician) Specialising in a portfolio of evidence for the Support Technician pathway e-learning training materials Bi-weekly virtual classroom training on all options of the apprenticeships; Access to virtual labs to develop technical competency Monthly work-based coaches' visits and competency checks 9 am – 5 pm Support desk for technical support Personal Learning and Thinking Skills and Key Skills development Option for vendor and technical certificates- e.g. CompTIA You will also have the opportunity to network with a range of other apprentices on our programme who can share ideas, offer suggestions and support. Our apprentices love being able to help each other! As one of our apprentices you will also have access to our online portal that will provide you with information and technical guidance, as well as links to the helpdesk to speak to technicians who can give real-time advice and support. Is enthusiastic about digital developments and has an active interest in IT keeps up to date with current technology and trends Working Week: Monday to Friday, 36 hours per week with a 40-minute lunch break. Four days a week in school and one day at home to study. Salary: £15,000 for the first 12 months. The remaining 10 months of the apprenticeship will be paid at the National Minimum Wage according to your age. Desired Qualifications: We require someone who is educated to GCSE standard English and Maths grade 4 (or above), or Functional Skills Level 2 in English and Maths. On passing your Primary Goal apprenticeship, you will gain professional recognition for the Register of IT Technician (RITTech).
