Full-time
PA. Bringing Ingenuity to Life.
Why consider joining our Digital & Data community?
* Join our Digital & Data team working alongside product, design and a wide range of other experts and cross-disciplinary teams to bring ideas to life through innovative software solutions.
* Grow a flexible and unique career within a trust-based, inclusive environment that values excellence, innovation, and curiosity. You have the option to progress with us on a technical career track. No need to go onto the Partner career track if this does not align with what you want to do.
* Hybrid working - our approach is to be in the office or on client site a minimum of 2 days per week.
* Work on a broad variety of projects and tech stacks for clients across seven sectors - no project is ever the same.
* Join other experts within our supportive and collaborative tech community through knowledge sharing and peer-level support, coaching and mentoring.
* Deepen your expertise through our culture of learning and growth - you will have a budget to take courses (technical and non-technical training), plus gain certifications.
About the role
As a UX/UI Designer at PA Consulting, you will design practical, usable interfaces and flows that move products from 0 to 1 and beyond. You will sometimes sit at the heart of multidisciplinary delivery teams and sometimes contribute as an individual designer embedded with a client - all while staying connected to our Design discipline and the wider Digital & Data community.
You will flex to different contexts - one week shaping product UI for a global consumer brand, the next helping visualise journeys for a UK services client - always focused on real outcomes and pragmatic craft-proud delivery.
What you will do
* Design user journeys, flows, wireframes, prototypes (manually and using Figma Make, or similar generative platforms) and UI that support shipping working software across web and mobile.
* Take concepts from concept to production-ready designs and iterate based on evidence or judgement and market-leading best practices.
* Work at pace in agile dual-track cycles (discovery and delivery), adapting scope and fidelity as needed to meet the goals of both projects, organisations and users alike.
* Often partner with engineering, product and other designers to make practical decisions quickly both on and off projects.
* Contribute to and use design systems; keep patterns consistent and accessible.
* Apply AI tools (e.g., Copilot, Miro, ChatGPT, Claude, agentic workflows, and other generative tooling) to speed ideation, auditing, documentation and analysis.
* Facilitate client workshops, whiteboarding and design reviews, present decisions clearly.
Qualifications
Who you are
* A hands-on UX/UI practitioner with shipped product experience.
* Comfortable balancing best practice with technical constraints and timelines.
* Clear and concise when explaining design decisions to any audience.
* Curious and experimental with AI-enabled design workflows.
* A constructive challenger who can reframe problems and propose workable options.
* Collaborative, adaptable and energised by multidisciplinary delivery.
How you operate
* Break down ambiguity into concrete steps; keep momentum without losing quality.
* Use AI intentionally to explore options faster and document decisions - never as a crutch.
* Share early, invite critique, and iterate with evidence.
* Switch fluidly between team-based delivery and individual contributor setups.
* Stay pragmatic: focus on value, feasibility and the next right increment.
* Fun, creative, energetic and contagiously optimistic.
Why this role may not be the right fit
* If you prefer a one-size-fits-all process or fixed toolkit for every problem.
* If you are uncomfortable with client-facing work, facilitation and (sometimes) frequently changing contexts.
* If you want long-term, single-product stability over varied, time-boxed consulting engagements.
* If you avoid feedback loops or are not comfortable sharing work early.
* If you are not open to using AI in your workflow or to actively learning, applying and sharing new tools.
* If you need strict role boundaries and do not want to flex to adjacent design activities.
* If you are not interested in stretching yourself, taking initiative, or shaping your own growth at PA, this will not be the right environment.
Benefits
* Health and lifestyle perks accompanying private healthcare for you and your family.
* 25 days annual leave (plus a bonus half day on Christmas Eve) with the opportunity to buy an additional 5 days.
* Generous company pension scheme.
* Opportunity to get involved with community and charity-based initiatives.
* Annual performance-based bonus.
* PA share ownership.
* Tax efficient benefits (cycle to work, give as you earn).
