Position Overview:
The Porter 1 is responsible for assisting in the transport, delivery, and general handling of goods, equipment, and personal belongings across the clients facilities. This role supports smooth logistical flow, contributes to the upkeep of orderly spaces, and enhances resident and visitor experience in both operational and hospitality settings.
Responsibilities

Assist with the transportation of luggage, supplies, materials, and personal items within the clients premises.
Deliver and retrieve items such as laundry, equipment, mail, or cleaning supplies across departments.
Escort staff, guests, or visitors to rooms, offices, or designated meeting points as needed.
Move furniture, beds, and fixtures as part of room setups, reassignments, or deep-cleaning rotations.
Support housekeeping or maintenance teams in clearing or preparing rooms and common areas.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage rooms, delivery bays, and corridors.
Respond to resident or guest requests for room assistance, transport, or errand running.
Report any damaged or misplaced items immediately to the supervisor.
Maintain carts, trolleys, and lifting tools in clean, working condition.
Assist in setup and breakdown of client events, meetings, or team-building activities.
Serve refreshments or provide minor support during VIP visits or formal site functions.
Uphold a courteous, helpful, and professional demeanor at all times.
Adhere to all safety protocols, especially while handling loads or navigating high-traffic zones.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Certifications:
KCPE minimum; KCSE preferred.
Manual handling or occupational safety training is an added advantage.
Experience:
1+ year experience in porterage, hospitality, or facilities support in institutional or remote environments preferred.
Experience in camps, hospitals, hotels, or construction housing facilities is a plus.
Skills:
Physically fit, able to lift, push, and carry items up to 30 kg with ease.
Basic communication in English.
Punctual, reliable, and able to follow directions with minimal supervision.
Friendly and cooperative; able to interact respectfully with diverse individuals.
Organized, attentive to detail, and safety-conscious.
Other Requirements:
Willing to work shifts, weekends, or remote assignments depending on client needs.
Presentable appearance and professional attitude.
Able to stand or walk for long periods and operate in both indoor and outdoor environments.
