Join to apply for the Homebirth Midwife role at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 midwife to support our homebirth service for a 1-year period. You will be part of a friendly, dedicated homebirth team delivering care in the home through the antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal period, holding a caseload of women as the named midwife throughout this journey.
Responsibilities
 * Provide safe, evidence-based and personalised antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and birthing people in the home setting.
 * Conduct holistic risk assessments and manage all aspects of care within the community setting, ensuring medical, psychological and social needs are met.
 * Promote and facilitate choice for those wishing to birth at home, supporting individualized midwifery‑led care.
 * Work in partnership with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care and make timely referrals where necessary.
 * Actively contribute to reducing health inequalities by providing an accessible homebirth service for all.
 * Support a 24/7 homebirth service through a mixture of day and night shifts.
Requirements
 * Band 6 midwife with experience in antenatal and intrapartum care.
 * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships.
 * Full driving licence with access to a car for travel to patients’ homes.
 * Flexibility to provide care in the home setting, including varying shift patterns.
 * Orientation package and ongoing support will be provided by experienced midwives.
