Newcastle City Council is seeking a highly motivated and well-organised individual to join our Adult Social Care Brokerage Team. This is a key role in supporting our vision of helping people to live independently in their own homes for as long as possible, with the right support in place when needed.

About the Role
As a Brokerage Officer, you will:
Work closely with Adult Social CarePoint, hospital social work teams, and Reablement services to arrange care packages with independent sector providers.
Source services that meet individual needs, ensuring value for money and high standards of care that support people to remain at home wherever possible.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, partners, and providers.
Monitor workflow, identify barriers, and contribute to continuous service improvement.
Undertake market analysis and support commissioning and procurement colleagues with contract compliance.
Ensure all work complies with the Care Act 2014, safeguarding duties, GDPR, and the Council’s Equality and Diversity Policy.This is a fast-paced role requiring accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing demands.
About You
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:
Experience in purchasing, arranging, or managing care services within a contract or procurement framework.
Knowledge of adult social care processes including assessment, support planning, safeguarding, and care management.
Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic databases.
The ability to extract, evaluate, and prioritise information, including sensitive data, appropriately and lawfully.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and adapt to changing priorities.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work constructively with colleagues, providers, and other professionals.
A flexible and proactive approach to problem-solving in a pressured environment.
