Overview

DaVinci Mobility is seeking an Apprentice to join their engineering team at the Liverpool site. The role offers a hands-on opportunity to develop practical engineering skills while working on specialist disability and mobility products that improve independence & quality of life.


Wage and Leave

£13,544.70 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices. Check minimum wage rates (opens in new tab).

* Salary will be the standard apprenticeship wage for the candidate7s age, per year. The role includes 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and a 3-month probationary period will apply.


Training course

Engineering operative (level 2)


Hours

Monday – Thursday (8:30-4:00pm) Friday (8:30-3:30pm). 34 hours 30 minutes a week

Start date: Monday 31 August 2026

1 year 3 months


Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.


What you'll do at work

* The successful candidate will work closely with our engineering and production team, supporting the welding, fabrication and assembly of our products to a high standard.
* Full training will be provided, and the role will suit someone who takes pride in producing accurate, tidy work and enjoys working in a practical workshop environment.
* You will be expected to follow build instructions and standard processes.
* Assist with preparing components and materials, support quality checks throughout the build process to ensure products are finished correctly and consistently.
* DaVinci Mobility operates within a regulated industry, meaning product safety and compliance are essential. A key part of the role will be using our Digital QMS (Quality Management System) to follow procedures, complete build records, and maintain traceability. This ensures our products are manufactured safely, compliantly and to the required standard.


Where you'll work


Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills. This training schedule has not been finalised. Check with this employer if you’ll need to travel to a college or training location for this apprenticeship.


Requirements

GCSE in Maths and English (grade 4-9).

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

* The role is primarily workshop-based but may occasionally involve interacting with customers or supporting tasks outside of the immediate workshop area.
* A flexible and positive approach is important, as priorities can change to meet customer needs.
* The work involves practical, hands-on tasks in an engineering environment and requires a willingness to follow health and safety procedures at all times.
* Applicants should be prepared for manual tasks, working with tools and equipment, and maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.

After this apprenticeship

On successful completion of the apprenticeship and subject to performance, there is a strong possibility of a permanent position within the business. DaVinci Mobility has a skilled and experienced workforce, with some team members approaching retirement age, creating genuine opportunities for progression and long-term employment for the right candidate.

An apprentice who completes their training to a high standard, demonstrates a strong work ethic and shows commitment to quality and safety will be well placed to progress into a full Engineering Operative role. Further development opportunities may include advanced welding skills, increased responsibility within the workshop, and ongoing CPD to support career growth.
