Work Based Learning Assessor in Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering
Salary: Scale 4: £26,804 – £29,743 per annum. Rising to Scale 5/6: £30,165 – £36,536 on completion of assessor award, plus £2,500 Market Supplement.
This post involves the assessment of practical skills and underpinning knowledge related to the NVQ programmes at levels 2, 3 and 4 based on company premises. You will support young people, apprentices and mature candidates seeking industry‑recognised competency qualifications across the South Wales area.
* Work as an essential part of the delivery and assessment team.
* Plan, organise and carry out workplace visits and on‑site practical assessments.
* Support and mentor students, maintain assessment records and progress reviews at customer sites.
* Meet strict timescales in a busy workload.
Qualifications and Experience: A minimum of five years post‑apprenticeship experience and appropriate technical qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, plus a recognised apprenticeship. An assessor qualification (A1, D32 or D33) is desirable.
